Cartoons: A golf cart run amuck

It looks to me like Trump has little respect for America, considering his merchandising and mixing of profit with presidential functions. Consider his hotels and golf courses.

The new rule for White House briefings is NO CAMERAS; the Washington Post reports, No cameras, no live audio and no Sean Spicer: The latest White House press briefing, annotated (June 22, 2017).

I dearly love shopping at Amazon, but you have to admit that with all their acquisitions, they're beginning to look a little like Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors.

Cartoons: Trump vs. the Media

According to the Washington Post "Trump’s media coverage has been 4-to-1 negative — but that isn’t really the point (May 19)." Comedian John Oliver on Last Week Tonight talked about Trump vs. Truth, available on YouTube. I say Trump is a provocateur and he will say whatever gets him the biggest bang for his buck. Sad.

Cartoons: Foggy Bottom reality

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is doing such a good job of satirizing this administration that the line between fact and fiction (if there is one) is becoming even harder to discern. BTW, the term Foggy Bottom is associated with the U.S. State Department, now somewhat defunct.

So, Congress will dump Obamacare (ACA) without having a replacement? Sad.

Even credentialed psychologists question Trump's mental health--from afar. One credentialed psychologist is says he's just a  "world class narcissist."

It's the poor--you know, the people at the bottom of the economic heap--that reap what's left over when the power games end.

Cartoons: two candidates are left, the third is a maybe

Today's mix looks at where Hilary, Donald and Bernie are in their campaigns.

Hilary has clinched the Democratic presidential nomination. To make it final there's the convention. When, where is the 2016 Democratic National Convention?

A week ago Joe Klein at Time Magazine said Donald still rules the airwaves, saying "He excels at “winning the news cycle”." This week it's a different story; the difference is Hilary found her voice.

Cartoons: Obama, Putin...and Lindsay Graham

The cartoons below refer to the unrest in Ukraine.  Here's some background from CNN: "20 questions: What's behind Ukraine's political crisis?. "  BBC News has a page--"As it happened: Pressure on Russia"--that gives a blow-by-blow account in the Reports column (some reports were tweeted).

Meanwhile talented editorial cartoonists give the real scoop on these recent happenings.

I just tried HealthCare.gov, the site for signing for Obamacare, and it worked just fine (loading the front page, that is).

Cartoons: the shutdown, 2013

On the topic of the government shutdown, America's editorial cartoonists are in top form (of course I select the toons that reinforce my views on the situation).  Without any further comment, here the eloquent beauties are -- all from U.S.News online.
